Carl Barnes is Interim Chief Financial Officer at inD, responsible for financial strategy, commercial performance, integration of partnership financial frameworks and governance, and supporting the company’s long-term growth and operational resilience.

Carl has been a senior finance leader across the Informa Group since 2010. He joined the business to lead Informa’s shared service centres in the UK and subsequently served as CFO for Informa’s Knowledge & Networking Division before being appointed CFO for Taylor & Francis in 2018.

During the development of the partnership between Informa Group’s B2B events business in IMEA and Dubai World Trade Centre’s events division, Carl chaired Design and Integration, leading the financial design and integration workstreams. Following formalisation of the partnership agreement, he was appointed Interim CFO for inD, bringing deep experience in cross-border financial integration, joint-venture governance and performance management.

Carl is known for combining rigorous commercial financial discipline with practical operational delivery — building scalable finance functions, driving process integration across complex partnerships, and enabling data-led decision-making to support sustainable growth.
